6th International Video Art Forum

 My video work “Fields of Home” is participating in the:

6th International Video Art Forum in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

The forum is organized by the Association of Culture and Arts in Dammam – KSA. and the Cinema Association. The forum will feature works by 56 artists from 29 countries, all contributing to a diverse exhibition of creative video art. The forum will take place in mid-December 2024 at various locations in Dammam, with highlights between December 9 and 18, 2024, for example. It will include screenings at Tek Al-Khabar Cinemas, seminars and workshops, such as a workshop on video art creation using AI. As well as discussions on the future of the film industry and video art production, highlighting the importance of advancing the visual culture movement and promoting and encouraging artists. The main organizer is the Association of Culture and Arts in Dammam. In its previous editions, the forum showcased over 823 artworks from more than 70 countries and hosted 31 specialized seminars and art workshops. Recognized as the first international gathering of its kind in the Gulf region, the forum has become a prominent platform for artists from around the world.

The SMALL WORKS Exhibition will be on view over the festive period until the beginning of January 2025. This exhibition will include a diverse display including photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media and digital works. It will invite viewers to reconsider how scale matters and shapes the way someone experiences art. There is no specific theme. Each piece will be 30cm x 30cm or under, including the mount/frame.

MUSLAB is an International Electroacoustic Music Showcase that seeks to bring together and disseminate the creation and exploration of sound by artists from different parts of the world. Its objective is to promote the creative process and contemporary artistic communication through activities that bring the public closer to experimental sound creation, offer artists new platforms of expression and foster a network of global exchange through concerts, training in new technologies and cultural activities.

New works and motifs in my online shop. All new works are physical and original in contrast to my digital dowload works which are already available in my shop which can be downloaded directly

The works presented in this shop are a little different from my other general works that I create as a visual artist. The motifs are more colorful and include a wide range of styles and motifs. From abstract to figurative, from monochrome to very colorful. Including nude, urban and nature motifs. In addition, the preferred representation of the subjects of most of my works are in square and round formats, just to make them a little distinctive and individual. Finally, the scale and size of the physical/original works fall into the miniature category, none of the square formats are larger than 20 x 20 cm or 30 x 21 cm for the rectangular formats.

LUSTED MEN Book

 One of my photographic works entitled “By The Lakeside I” from my ongoing portfolio A State of Bared is published in the book LUSTED MEN

Where are the erotic photographs of men? Once we become aware of this question, it is difficult not to realize the absence of these images in our visual culture. Because if women, their image and their bodies are too often sexualized and eroticized, those of men are rather absent. Another story of domination of the heterosexual male gaze that would like to dictate our desires and our representations since always! So in 2019, a small group of women came together around this question. Photographers, researchers, art workers, feminist activists, and they said to themselves that we would launch a collection to invite everyone to photograph men and explore the political power of eroticism. This year 2024, part of this participatory photographic collection is for the first time brought together in a magnificent photo book signed LUSTED MEN. With more than 700 photos, accompanied by a selection of testimonies, a manifesto of the collective, an anthropological study, a text retracing the history of the LUSTED MEN community and an afterword written by our sponsor @maiamazaurette. In short, the book Lusted Men is a feminist photographic investigation, at the crossroads of art, research and visual activism.

OPEN NIGHTS FESTIVAL VOL. 9

 As part of the OPEN NIGHTS FESTIVAL VOL. 9 with the theme EARTH, two video works of mine, “Fields Of Home” and “Structures and Patterns” will be shown at the Timeless Museum/Diachronic Museum of Larissa in Larissa, Greece from 19^th October to 2^nd November 2024, daily from 8:00 am to 20:00 pm.

The festival itself will open on 17^th October and most events will run until 27^th October 2024, including a wide range of exhibitions, film screenings, performances and workshop performances at various locations in the city of Larissa, Greece.

I created both video works during my Pedvale project in Latvia in 2023 and reflect notions and themes related to earth, environment, identity and nature.

The inter-artistic and inter-scientific OPEN NIGHTS festival is organized by the group OFF ART – Stage Performances and the Vice-Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Larissa with the support of the YPPOA and the Region of Thessaly. The idea, implementation and artistic direction of the festival is the choreographer Roula Karaferi. For one more year, the festival collaborates with cultural bodies, such as the Ephorate of Antiquities of Larissa, the French Institute - French Embassy, the NEON organization, the University of Thessaly - Department of Architectural Engineering and a multitude of artists and groups.

Memory, grief and resilience. We also understand memory as a complete function, formed by two contradictory elements that include remembering and forgetting. One of the questions that we strive to articulate with you is to think about the limits between both elements of memory and forgetfulness. Does memory really exist? Or is it a subconscious action as a way to avoid remember a traumatic event? How do we remember? Do we remember through our senses or through our body? Is remembering a perception of the mind or the heart? What is remembering one more time?

In the year 2024, the 8th edition of the Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland will take place, marking an important international artistic and professional event. For this occasion, the G8 suggests a thematic focus on the importance of balance and, conversely, explores questions surrounding its absence. Similar to previous years, a portion of the biennial’s core collection will be exhibited in Miercurea Ciuc, and several satellite events are scheduled to take place. “Political divisions, social inequality, wars, climate change, natural disasters. In recent years, a number of geopolitical events and ecological phenomena in the world have led us to take a closer look at our collective vision of the present and the future. We look at what happens when a relative social, political or natural balance is upset. A state in which opposing influences, circumstances or aspirations no longer seem to balance each other seems to break down. Equally important is the question of the inner equilibrium and tranquillity, or lack of it, of the individual soul. The G8 stresses the importance of individual and collective responsibility in maintaining balance, and the importance of the social role of the creator and of art in restoring it. The 8th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland invites visual interpretations of the importance of balance and, conversely, the lack of it, in such a way that the artistic intention focuses on the social role of the nature of the image through the creative attitude.

Since October 4, 2024, my video sound work J.7, which is also my most recent work in this genre, became part of the VIDEO SOUND ARCHIVE - Season S11

A working archive dedicated to video and sound works that reconsiders the current restructures and parameters. Implemented on January 13,2020, by artists Debbie Y.J. Lin and Bridget Moreen Leslie, both working in this medium. The hope is to build a network to foster connections, and create a place for the work to exist in a broader conversation -- a pure art exchange to experiment and express without buzz words, vanity metrics and artspeak.

Archives will exist on this website indefinitely. The goal is to create a space for like minded artists to find others working in the same medium.
